Smartphone update

Apple was the largest smartphone manufacturer in the United States in the three-month period ending in December 2012. Google Android was the top smartphone platform in the U.S. in the fourth quarter of 2012, with a market share of 53.4 percent. Second was Apple with 36.3 percent, and Blackberry was third with 6.4 percent.
More than 125 million people in the U.S. owned smartphones at the end of 2012, an increase of 5 percent from September.

By the end of 2013, there will be about 1.4 billion smartphones in use around the world, an increase of 44 percent from a year earlier, according to a new report by ABI Research.

About 798 million of smartphones will run the Android operating system, 294 million will be based on the Apple iOS, and 45 million will run Windows Phone.

While Android and Apple continue to dominate the smartphone market, analysts predicted that Windows Phone and Blackberry will make significant gains in 2013.

Job & Opportunity Statistics – What are Your Options?

Last Friday, Bureau of Labor Statistics reported “payroll employment increased by 195,000 jobs in June, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 7.6 percent”. These numbers have become the norm which are not positive numbers for millions searching for employment. Here are some very important statistics and facts with which to help people in making corrective changes for their future.

Last Month Statistics:
  • 58.7% of the civilian adult population of 245 million was working last month
  • Only 47% of all Americans, not just the labor force, were employed in full-time jobs
  • Of the 144 million Americans employed, only 116 million were in full-time jobs.
  • The majority of those "increased" Part-time jobs were government sector jobs.
For those who do not have full-time jobs, they are finding it increasingly difficult in getting one. What is even more troubling is where some of the jobs are coming from and the types of positions, full- or part-time.

Going back over the past 10 years of these reports, it becomes painfully obvious people who are unemployed today are finding it harder and harder to find jobs – we have “lost” nine million jobs; that means fewer businesses and fewer positions to find. Those are lost jobs; opportunities which no longer exist. That is the state of our current economy.

When it comes to the unemployment rate, how accurate are those numbers? In just the past 12 months, two million Americans have left the labor force; they are no longer looking for a job… they have given up. What does that mean? They are no longer counted in the unemployment rate which means the unemployment numbers have become distorted and actually are no longer reliable.

It is impossible to have a growing economy when the majority of the population are not in full-time jobs and as such reduces the opportunity for finding a stable career. What makes it even more difficult in finding a career is the fact that many companies are being forced to convert employment from full-time to part-time in order to save money because of Obamacare mandates. How many part-time career opportunities do you think exists where one can climb the ladder of success?

The #1 and 2 employers in America today is Wal-Mart and Kelly Services. Kelly Services provides temporary workers for companies looking for part-time workers. What a stark distinction over opportunities of the past. In the 60’s, all but 3 of the top employers in the country produced things as compared to today where only 3 of the top 15 employers produce things, goods, and products. The rest provide services like Wal-Mart. So what opportunities are there?

How many times in our history have we seen Americans create prosperity in the face of adversity?
The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes.” ---- William James
There are opportunities everywhere... stay alert, keep your options open (even if you have a full-time job), and fully investigate all opportunities… don’t just jump in. Look for businesses opportunities that provide an internship program where you are not paying for developing a new business or career.

Never ever give up… this is America, we are Americans and we must and will get back to what made us the greatest Nation on Earth.
